Amancio Ortega, founder of Zara owner Inditex, has moved into the European logistics sector by buying a warehouse in the Netherlands for €105 million.
For the billionaire founder of Inditex SA, it is his first move into the European logistics market. The purchase of the 103,000 square meter warehouse in Venlo near the German border, was confirmed by his investment company, Pontegadea.
Last year, Amancio Ortega invested more than $1 billion in distribution centres in the United States.
Earlier this year, the 87-year-old billionaire acquired a luxury residential building in Dublin for around €100 million and a former BBC building in central London for £82 million.
Pontegadea’s real estate portfolio was estimated in 2021 to be worth €15.3 billion. The image is a stock picture.
