Sweden-based KPA Pension has bought the Mentorn 1 office building in central Stockholm for SEK 3 billion (€264 million). The seller is AMF Fastigheter AB.
Mentorn 1, which was built in 2009, has a lettable area of approximately 18,000 square meters. More than 90% is leased. Admission will take place on September 2.
KPA Pension, which is part of the Folksamgruppen, will continue the long-term and strategic expansion of its property portfolio. This will be done through an acquisition in the middle of central Stockholm.
Mentorn 1 is near its existing property, Blekholmen 4, which is also called Kungsbrohuset or Schibstedhuset.
Jonas Bjuggren, Property Director at Folksamgruppen, says, “We see great synergies in our management and strengthened opportunities to offer the market and our customers attractive premises in the best possible communication mode. The focus of the folk group on high-quality modern office properties in attractive locations is firm. When given the right opportunity, the property portfolio will be further increased. The property will be integrated into our systematic work to ensure high sustainability performance to achieve our climate goals.
“KPA Pension’s task is to provide employees in municipalities and regions with a secure pension through long-term investments that contribute to sustainable social development. The acquisition of the Mentorn 1 property is a good example of how KPA Pension creates value and even better conditions for good returns and pensions for customers for many years to come.”
